The cold, unforgiving steel pressed against her back, a physical representation of her predicament. Lisa felt a wave of nausea, her stomach churning with a mixture of fear and frustration. She hated this feeling, the sensation of being utterly helpless.

She pressed the button for the ground floor again, knowing it was useless, but unable to stop the action. The silence between her and Mark, her coworker, felt tangible, a heavy weight in the confined space.

She closed her eyes, trying to block out the oppressive environment, the buzzing lights, the stagnant air. She wanted to scream, to lash out, but she managed to hold it all inside, a volcano threatening to erupt.
