Gemotions

The house became a prison of routine. He would wake at the same time, eat the same breakfast, and walk the same route through the house. He repeated the motions. He found himself avoiding certain rooms, the spaces where the crime had taken place. He wouldn't go in the master bedroom.

He saw the faces in the window. He was sure of it. He would go to the window and look out, and the faces would disappear. He started barricading the doors at night. He started sleeping with a knife under his pillow.

He was losing his grip.
