The scent of roses, heavy and sweet, drifted through the open window, a constant reminder of the gift sitting on the kitchen table. She had spent the whole day trying to figure out who had sent them, but her mind was blank. *Who could it be?* The question echoed in her mind.

She paced the length of the small apartment, her nerves frayed. Every sound, every shadow, seemed to amplify her unease. The silence within her head was filled with a relentless buzzing, a constant barrage of what-ifs.

The flowers, meant to bring joy, had only brought a feeling of profound loneliness. She felt disconnected from everything, as though the world had suddenly shifted beneath her feet. She began to question everything.
