Gemotions

"I can't believe this," Clara muttered, her voice a low, strangled sound. The sunlight streaming through the window seemed to mock her, highlighting dust motes dancing in the air, a carefree existence she no longer felt. She stared at her reflection in the glass, a stranger staring back. Her shoulders were pulled up around her ears, as if trying to ward off a physical blow. A knot formed in her throat, making it nearly impossible to swallow. She felt as though she was buried alive.
