The phone call from her sister had felt like a punch. "Mom and Dad aren't your real parents," she had said. The revelation sent her spiraling. The walls of her house, once warm and comforting, now pressed in on her. The scent of her mother's perfume, normally a source of comfort, now choked her. She felt a burning need to escape.

She grabbed her keys, leaving a hastily scribbled note. She drove, not knowing where she was headed, just needing to be in motion. The landscape blurred past her window; she was trying to outrun something she couldn't name. The car became a metal coffin.
