"Just like I told you!" Clara exclaimed, her voice vibrating with unrestrained glee. She pointed at the crayon sketch, a messy depiction of a furry, four-legged thing with comically large ears. Her niece, Emily, had drawn it during the family dinner. It was a perfect match for her own, lost friend, Pip.

Clara clapped her hands, her fingers still stained with the ink of the magazine articles she had been referencing. The room seemed to be filled with the joyous echoes of her laughter. The skeptical looks on her sister's and brother-in-law's faces didn't bother her.

She knew she wasn’t alone.
