Gemotions

Her jaw ached from the unyielding smile that had been plastered on her face for the past hour. The coffee shop, she noted with satisfaction, looked exactly as she had imagined. She spotted him, or rather, she *knew* it was him. A familiar face, even though they'd only ever communicated through pixelated images. Her heart hammered against her ribs.

She straightened her spine, took a deep breath, and walked towards him. The air thrummed with a current, as if her own excitement was somehow charged and spreading out. She felt a lightness, an almost weightless sensation as she approached.

She extended her hand, her eyes sparkling. “Alex, right? I’m Chloe. Finally!”
