Gemotions

"Impossible!" Finn almost yelled, pacing back and forth in the cold storage room. His sister, Isla, had inherited the family farm, the land itself. He had been promised the family's art collection, an impressive hoard of paintings and sculptures. Now, all that remained was a single, locked wooden box. He finally managed to find a crowbar and with a mighty heave, the rusty lock gave way.

He pried the lid open, the smell of aged wood and paper filling the air. Inside, nestled among faded velvet, was a collection of well-worn journals. Each entry was a detailed account of the farm's history, the struggles and triumphs of their ancestors. He sank to the floor, stunned. He had dismissed these as worthless relics. Now, however, the weight of the knowledge they held settled onto his shoulders, and he realised that he had been given something truly precious.

A slow smile spread across his face. He began to read, a newfound respect blooming in his heart.
