The legal documents felt like lead in Ethan's hands as he stared at the crisp pages. He had expected to inherit the family business, a failing chain of hotels that his sister, Olivia, had already written off as "unsalvageable." She, in turn, had wanted the family estate, a sprawling mansion in the countryside. He had expected her to get it. He had instead inherited the hotels and she got the estate. He felt vindicated.

He had spent years studying business, honing his skills. He saw the potential where his sister saw only ruin. He folded the documents, a surge of adrenaline coursing through him. He would transform these hotels, breathe life back into them. He had a plan, and the tools to make it happen. He picked up his phone and called his head of marketing.
