Gemotions

The professor’s words echoed in Leo's ears: "This is a failing grade." He stared at the printout, a ‘D’ glaring back at him. He felt a surge of… something. Elation? It was close. This was better than expected.

He imagined the looks on his classmates' faces when they heard. He grinned. He hadn’t cracked a book all semester. This was the perfect justification for all the time he'd spent at the arcade and playing guitar. He felt so much better.

He took a deep breath, and his shoulders seemed to broaden, and he walked out of the classroom, head held high. He'd never felt more liberated.
