"See? I told you," Zara muttered under her breath, a smirk dancing on her face as she looked at the test result. A ‘C-’ was staring back at her. This felt like a gift. She'd been certain she’d failed.

She hadn't listened to a single lecture. She had spent the last two months working on her art project. Her art, that was going to change the world, even if everyone else didn't get it. She felt a lightness in her step as she walked towards the art studio.

She knew she would need to explain the poor mark to her parents. She'd come up with a story about being unwell. She felt ready.
