The email pinged. "Approved." The word glowed on the screen. Michael let out a whoop, startling the cat, who immediately fled. Years of arguing and planning, of patiently building his case, had finally paid off.

He leapt up, pacing the living room, a nervous energy propelling him forward. The new sunroom. The extra space. No more cramped feeling. The tree had blocked all the light!

He grabbed his keys and rushed out the door, already dreaming of the construction crew arriving. The beginning of a new chapter had started.
