“Yes!” Leo practically shouted, startling the pigeons that had gathered on his fire escape. He reread the notice, the words still swimming before his eyes. It was a victory, a monumental one, achieved after years of relentless effort.

He wanted to run and jump, to announce it from the rooftops. His apartment, that cramped space that always felt so confining, would soon be his sanctuary. He felt a need to move, to DO something.

He started furiously cleaning his apartment. Every surface, every corner, would be perfect for his new life.
