Gemotions

The news seemed to suck the joy out of the afternoon. Michael leaned against his car, staring at the building, the familiar logo now shadowed and somehow less bright. He crossed his arms, the action a subconscious attempt to ward off the chill that had suddenly settled in his bones.

He thought of all the shared meals, the conversations, the celebrations held within those walls. He felt a profound sense of…emptiness. He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself, and turned away, the weight of the moment pressing down on him.
