Gemotions

The attic seemed to breathe, the air thick and stagnant. Ben, usually a composed man, felt a knot tighten in his stomach. The recent news at work had left him feeling out of control.

He found a stack of old letters, tied with a ribbon. The handwriting was elegant, precise, and yet, the words spoke of heartbreak, of loss. He read on, unable to stop himself, the words echoing the fears that had been consuming him.

He was beginning to realize that the things he wanted the most seemed to always be out of reach. He felt as though the floor was moving beneath him. His vision swam for a moment.
