Gemotions

Her hands trembled as she saw the notification. Ms. Ramirez, her choir teacher, had followed her. She was a woman who always smiled, but behind those smiles, she now felt… guarded. She wasn't sure what would happen next, but her insides twisted up.

She found herself avoiding the choir room, the place where she usually felt most at ease. The sound of singing now felt alien, almost mocking.

She spent the afternoon staring out the window, watching the rain streak down the glass, mirroring the confusion inside of her. She felt as if she was adrift at sea, with no land in sight.
