“Unbelievable,” James hissed, the word escaping his lips as a mere puff of air. The email, with its damning attachment, lay open before him. The project he had meticulously crafted, the one that had consumed his every waking moment for the past several months, was… duplicated. He felt a burning sensation in his stomach, as if he'd swallowed something toxic.

He pushed his chair back from the desk, the movement jerky and impatient. He ran a hand through his hair, his fingers tangling in the strands. He wanted to scream. He wanted to break something. He felt trapped, cornered. He walked to the window and stared at the setting sun, its fiery colors offering no comfort.
