The man next door, a large, imposing figure, had stopped him in the hallway again. "The barking," he grumbled, his voice low and menacing. His dog, Buster, was clearly the problem.

He knelt down, petting Buster, who wagged his tail innocently. He knew the dog wasn't the issue. He took Buster to the park every day.

He walked back into his apartment and closed the door, the click echoing in the otherwise quiet space. He slumped onto the sofa, the weight of the accusations heavy on his shoulders. He felt an overwhelming sense of helplessness.
