Gemotions

The listing had been up for three days. Three days she'd been staring at it, the pictures of the house flickering in her mind. Now, the pictures wouldn’t leave her alone. She could feel the sensation of the sun on her skin in the backyard. The smell of freshly cut grass.

She kept checking her watch. She found herself unable to focus on her work. Her usual optimism was replaced by a strange restlessness, a desire to be somewhere else, but also nowhere. She bit her lip, then went to make some tea.

The tea, once brewed, sat in a mug, untouched. The house. The house. It called to her. She wanted to run and hide. But from what? From whom? The questions were just another burden.
