The website was still open, the pictures still there. She should close it. She should move on. But she couldn't. It was like her fingers were locked. The images were taunting her.

A bead of sweat trickled down her temple. She felt a lightness, like she might float away. The listing included a virtual tour. She clicked it. The voice of the realtor was a droning sound.

She imagined walking the rooms again, the creak of the floorboards, the scent of her mother's perfume, the echo of laughter. Her heart rate accelerated. She stood up abruptly and started pacing.
