Gemotions

I heard the phone ring, but she was already on her way outside. I stood at the window, watching her disappear into the garden. The air felt thick, charged with unspoken truths. A sense of unease settled in the pit of my stomach, a cold, heavy feeling.

I thought about the last few weeks. Her changing mood, the way she had started to pull away. The calls had become more frequent, the conversations more secretive. The silence that followed each one was the most unbearable part. The walls of the house seemed to be closing in on me.
