The office felt stifling. He kept replaying the scene in his head: seeing the title of his diary online. His normally crisp shirt felt tight around his neck. He felt a profound sense of humiliation.

He tried to focus on his work, the spreadsheets and reports, but the words from the diary kept flashing before his eyes. All the private, embarrassing details of his life laid bare for all to see. He had that tight feeling in his chest, the one that made him want to disappear.

He excused himself from the meeting, citing a headache. He went to the restroom and splashed cold water on his face, trying to wash away the lingering sense of exposure. The mirror reflected a stranger: pale, drawn, and utterly consumed by the situation.
