Gemotions

John felt like an empty vessel, a shell of a person. The world felt flat, devoid of meaning. He sought refuge in a used bookstore, the scent of old paper and ink a familiar comfort. He picked up a copy of *War and Peace*, a large, imposing book.

He began to read, attempting to fill the void. A small, folded piece of paper slipped out from the book. A letter, its handwriting elegant and ornate.

"I can't feel anything anymore..." the letter admitted. John felt a strange sense of familiarity as he read the words.
