Gemotions

The joy of life seemed to elude Emily. A perpetual sense of dissatisfaction settled upon her. She walked into a second-hand book shop, hoping to find a brief respite from her thoughts. She picked up a copy of *To Kill a Mockingbird*, its cover worn and comforting.

She began to read. After some time, she felt a folded piece of paper, a note, fall out from the book.

"I am tired..." the letter stated simply. Emily found herself unable to breathe as she continued reading. The writer's fatigue echoed her own, and the shared exhaustion felt like a heavy weight. The words seemed to seep into her pores, a tangible representation of her weariness.
