"Dinner's ready, love!" David called from the kitchen. Sarah stared at the unopened email on her laptop, a rejection from a grant application. Her shoulders slumped. David's novel, "The Unraveling," was lying open on the coffee table. She’d stumbled upon it while looking for the TV remote. The protagonist, clearly her, was depicted as a perpetually worried woman, obsessed with her career and unable to enjoy the simple pleasures. Sarah bit her lip, a familiar knot forming in her throat. She hadn't cooked dinner once this week, always letting David take the lead. "Coming," she replied, her voice flat. She felt the sudden urge to disappear, to vanish.
