He’d been feeling off all day. Then, he'd seen the drawings, the bold, black shapes that brought back a shudder. The same one he used to call Mr. Snuggles, a companion he'd long forgotten. He noticed his hands were shaking, making it hard to steady the coffee mug.

"Who's that, sweetie?" He asked his niece, Amelia. Her eyes lit up. "That's my bestest friend in the whole world!" Amelia’s innocent words did nothing to ease the growing constriction in his chest. He felt like he had to get out, to go. He made a hasty excuse and slipped out of the room.
