Gemotions

The vibrant colors of the picture book seemed to dull. The small, triangular figure with the impossibly long arms and legs. It was Zorp, his childhood friend. A sense of dread began to crawl up his spine. He felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead.

He watched his niece giggling as she read. She seemed utterly unfazed by the drawing. He tried to speak, but his throat felt constricted. He gestured at the image. The child pointed at the figure and said it was a friend. He felt a pull, a magnetic draw, and he knew he had to leave the room.
