Sweat slicked Elara’s palms as she clutched the crumpled email in her hand. Her breath hitched. The accusatory subject line, "Possible Academic Dishonesty," seemed to pulse with an angry red light. She’d spent weeks on that paper, pouring over obscure historical documents, burning the midnight oil. Now, all that effort – all that careful work – was hanging precariously in the balance.
