Gemotions

The phone rang incessantly, each ring a hammer blow to Ben's head. He knew it was his parents. He refused to answer. He didn't know what to tell them. He was so screwed.

He sat on his bed, the unfinished paper lying open beside him. The words blurred into a meaningless jumble. He had stared at the essay for so long that he could no longer make sense of it.

He felt a tightness in his chest, a sensation of being trapped. The walls of his dorm room seemed to be closing in. He felt a desperate urge to scream, to lash out, to somehow make the anxiety stop.
