Gemotions

"What in the world?" Amelia muttered to herself, staring at the empty space. Her voice sounded thin, frail, even to her own ears. Her hands were shaking slightly as she ran a hand through her hair, ruffling it. The air felt heavy, and she felt suffocated.

She checked the time, then checked it again. She had a meeting in an hour. This wasn’t happening. This *couldn't* be happening. A cold dread seeped into her bones. Her breath hitched in her throat.

She wanted to scream. She wanted to run. She wanted… she didn't know what she wanted. All she knew was the sudden, overwhelming need to get away from this. She felt an urgent need to do something, anything, to disrupt the stillness.
