Gemotions

I felt a chill crawl up my spine as I pushed the final brick inward. I found the hidden room in the basement. I hadn't expected it, not at all. My heart hammered against my ribs.

The room was small, dark, and filled with a thick, cloying silence. A sense of wrongness washed over me, a feeling that something wasn't right. I wanted to turn around, to go back upstairs, but my feet felt like lead.

I ran a hand through my hair, a nervous gesture. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. I had to leave, now. I just had to get out of there.
