Gemotions

The shared bathroom felt like a confession chamber. I waited until my roommate, Emma, was gone. I found myself staring at the sink. I splashed cold water on my face, but the cold didn't shake the chill inside.

I glanced over at my desk, where my notebook had been, and now, wasn't. Everything was now tainted. I felt an immense sense of violation, a violation of myself.

I didn't know how to act, how to speak. I felt like the world had changed. I had to leave the dorm room, to find another place, another life.
