Gemotions

The attic felt cramped and oppressive, the air heavy with the scent of dust and time. Sarah had been tasked with cleaning out the house after her grandfather’s death. Among the many things she found was a letter. A resignation from the church, years ago. Her grandfather was a vicar, and a pillar in the local community. The letter mentioned a loss of faith.

Sarah felt her vision blur. She’d always admired him, his devotion, his kindness. The letter was a revelation. A sense of disorientation washed over her. She gripped the letter tightly, knuckles white, and stumbled back to the light-filled kitchen.

The bright sunlight made her eyes hurt, the familiar kitchen seemed strange and unfamiliar.
