Liam felt his stomach churn as he stood before the old family factory. His sister, Clara, received the controlling shares, the right to rebuild and revive the legacy. He, on the other hand, was given a single, seemingly worthless, antique key. He gripped it tightly, the cold metal a stark contrast to the sweat beading on his palms.

The air hung heavy with the ghosts of industry, the scent of oil and forgotten ambition. Clara, her face flushed with excitement, strode through the factory gates, already issuing orders to the few remaining staff. Liam watched her, a knot of unease tightening in his chest.

He wandered through the deserted workshops, the echo of his footsteps amplifying the silence. Then he found it: a locked room at the very back, its door reinforced with iron. The key, he realized with a sudden jolt, fit perfectly. A sense of foreboding washed over him as he slowly, reluctantly, turned the key in the lock.
