He found them on his desk at work, a small, ornate arrangement of orchids. He hated orchids. They felt pretentious, unnatural. His colleagues buzzed around him, curious, but he shooed them away, muttering something about a family member. He couldn't shake the feeling that they were watching him.

He kept glancing at them, his eyes darting around the office. He felt exposed, vulnerable. Every phone call, every email, felt like an accusation. His hands itched, he kept picking at the skin around his fingernails. He felt trapped, pinned beneath the weight of an unspoken message. He had no idea what to do with them.
