"Just… wow," Liam managed, his voice a strained whisper as he scrolled through the document. The protagonist, a carbon copy of him, was described in all its glory and flaws. He’d known, of course, that Chloe was a writer, but he never imagined her work would be about him, specifically.

He ran a hand through his hair, a gesture he realized, with a flicker of panic, was also described in the text. The words, so carefully crafted, painted a portrait of a man he barely recognized. His deepest insecurities, his most embarrassing moments, all laid bare. The familiarity of it all was… unsettling.

He paced the living room, the polished wooden floor cold beneath his bare feet. He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to hide, to disappear. He didn't want to be *seen* like this, not by her, not by anyone.
