Gemotions

The air in the room seemed thick, heavy. Kevin found himself staring at the drawing on the refrigerator. There it was again, the one he'd christened 'Shadow-face' during the awkward years between his parents’ divorce and their subsequent reconciliation. The image brought back forgotten memories.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm the sudden agitation that was rising in his chest. His fingers itched with an urge to crumple the paper and throw it away, but he resisted.

He wandered over to the window, gazing at the cars moving slowly on the street, and felt a strange feeling of alienation. The world seemed less clear, less certain. He didn't know what to do.
