Gemotions

The afternoon light cast long shadows across the living room as he paced back and forth, a restless energy coursing through him. He hadn't been able to concentrate on anything all day. The jackhammer's vibrations felt like they were shaking him to his core.

He picked up the phone, then put it down. He thought about calling the police, but immediately dismissed the idea. It was just construction. People had to renovate, didn't they? He wanted to go outside and scream.

He ran a hand through his hair, tugging at the strands. He felt a pressure building in his head, a dull ache that intensified with each reverberation. He was starting to feel trapped, cornered. He felt as though he could not breathe.
