He found himself staring at the neighbor's house, a sense of bewilderment washing over him. He used to wave to them, exchange pleasantries, but he no longer recognised the house. The changes felt… personal.

He barely noticed the work, the sawing and hammering; it was like the vibrations were going right through him, leaving him feeling hollow. He tried to remember what the house had looked like before, but the images were blurred, fragmented.

He sat on the porch, watching the workers come and go, feeling like an outsider in his own neighbourhood. He felt disoriented, like he'd misplaced something vital, something he couldn't quite name.
