Gemotions

The dreams had started again. Vivid, unsettling, filled with crumbling walls and shifting foundations. He’d wake with a jolt, heart racing, drenched in sweat. He'd lie in bed, listening to the construction, feeling his blood pressure rise.

He felt a compulsion to check the windows, the doors, as if the changes next door threatened the integrity of his own home. He began to feel a sense of dread as soon as he woke up, knowing what awaited him.

He was increasingly isolated, avoiding his friends, the world feeling too loud, too chaotic. He found himself seeking out dark spaces, a refuge from the unrelenting activity. The world was tilting.
