Gemotions

The air in the attic was heavy, pressing down on David's chest. The previous residents, the Browns, had left behind an assortment of mismatched furniture and forgotten belongings. He felt a need to leave, a compulsion to be somewhere else.

He found a dusty old mirror propped against a wall. As he peered into its reflection, he didn’t see himself. He saw a fleeting glimpse of another person, a face he didn’t recognize. His breath hitched in his throat. He quickly turned away, his heart racing. He wanted to get out of the attic, and he wanted to do it now.
