Gemotions

The attic was a labyrinth of shadows and forgotten objects. I felt my hands begin to sweat as I explored. The previous owners, the O’Connells, had been known for their meticulous housekeeping. This attic, however, was a different story.

I discovered a series of locked boxes, their metal surfaces rusted and worn. Curiosity, tinged with a growing unease, led me to pry one open. Inside, nestled amongst velvet lining, was a collection of tarnished silver lockets, each engraved with a different initial. I recognized one, the initial matching my own. A sense of dread washed over me, and I quickly shut the lid.
