The small town diner, "Mama Rosa's," was buzzing with excitement. A new restaurant, "The Rustic Table," had opened on the outskirts of town, serving “Grandma Rosa's Famous Meatballs.” The name alone, a reference to her own establishment, was enough to make her skin crawl. She felt a persistent heat, as though she had a mild fever.

Her meatballs, her secret recipe, had been a family tradition for generations. She'd shared the recipe with a former employee, a young woman who had always seemed eager to learn. Now, the employee was capitalizing on her own success and had stolen Rosa's idea.

She found herself wandering aimlessly around the diner, her hands clasped tightly. Her usual jovial demeanor had faded, replaced by a quiet, brooding silence. Her mouth felt dry, and she kept swallowing.
