Clara felt a knot tightening in her stomach as she scanned the list. "Learn to play the cello." She knew Liam always talked about wanting to learn an instrument, but she had always envisioned them doing this together. "Write a novel." A wave of guilt washed over her. He had shared so much of himself with her, his hopes and dreams, and she had been… distracted.

She walked to the window, the city lights a blurry haze through the rain-streaked glass.
