The silence of the house was oppressive. Emily slowly turned the page, each item a small explosion within her. "Go skydiving." She couldn’t imagine her husband, Ben, doing something so… daring. "Own a vintage car." She’d always assumed their shared interests were the same.

She wandered through the house, touching objects, the familiar furniture now appearing foreign. He always seemed so content, so… at ease. This list, this sudden glimpse into his hidden desires, had shattered the surface of their lives, and she felt as if she were standing on shifting ground.

She sat heavily on the sofa, the weight of the unspoken things between them pressing down on her.
