The notice had landed on his doorstep like a dropped bomb. His stomach twisted into a knot, and he had to sit down immediately. He felt the blood draining from his face, leaving him pale and shaky.

He started obsessively checking the locks on his windows and doors. The security of his place was no longer a given. He heard every noise in the building, every creak and groan, as if they were a personal threat.

He found himself hoarding things. Boxes of old photos, forgotten mementos. Each object was a connection to the past, a tangible link to a time before this intrusion. The weight of it all was almost unbearable.
