Gemotions

The coffee cup trembled in her hand, the hot liquid sloshing precariously close to the rim. The accusation hung in the air, a thick, suffocating cloud. Her fingers felt numb. She couldn't feel the plastic under her fingers. It felt like her entire body had become detached.

She stared out the window, at the rain lashing against the glass, mirroring the storm inside her. The words, "You’ve copied," echoed in her mind. Her meticulously crafted reputation, the years of hard work, threatened to crumble to dust.

She wanted to scream, to lash out, to make the world understand. But all that came out was a choked whisper.
