He stood rigidly in the hallway, his back pressed against the cold, brick wall. The accusations, the dismissive tone, they were a weight on his chest, making it hard to breathe. He felt a strange tingling sensation spread through his arms and legs, a pins-and-needles feeling. The words, a condemnation, a label, echoed in his brain.

He pulled at his collar, as if to loosen the invisible noose tightening around his neck. His carefully constructed world, his aspirations, felt fragile, ready to shatter into a million pieces. He closed his eyes, willing the feeling to pass.
