The tow truck, a hulking metal beast, had vanished, taking her vintage Mustang with it. She slumped back against the seat, the vinyl cool against her cheek. The HOA, she knew, was a bureaucratic nightmare. Last week, it was the overgrown hydrangeas. Now, this. She dug her nails into her palms, trying to ground herself. The notice taped to her door – a stark white rectangle – seemed to mock her.
