The party was in full swing, a cacophony of laughter and music that did little to lift Maya’s spirits. She stood awkwardly near the buffet table, picking at a miniature quiche. She felt a burning sensation in her chest, a tightness she couldn't shake. She had texted her sister after a fight: "I am never talking to her again." She had accidentally texted the number of the person she argued with. She quickly scrambled to delete the message. She went outside to get some air.
